Details and limits

Komga is a local MCP server for a self-hosted Komga comics, manga and ebook server. The package name is komga-mcp. You run it over stdio or stateless Streamable HTTP on localhost. It does not start Komga for you. This is free; the catalogue price is Free.

Works with Komga. Not affiliated with or endorsed by the Komga project.

There is no hosted service in this listing. Create an API key in Komga under User settings. Set KOMGA_URL to your server and KOMGA_API_KEY to the key, sent as the X-API-Key header. KOMGA_USERNAME and KOMGA_PASSWORD (HTTP basic auth) also work. Keys and passwords are never printed.

Writes are confirm-gated. A write is a dry-run preview when confirm is omitted. confirm must be the boolean true, and KOMGA_ALLOW_WRITES must be the literal true.

The default KOMGA_TOOLSETS publishes 7 read-focused tools. Set it to all for 34 tools. Each tool takes an action field. The 22 endpoints that return files, images, page bytes, font bytes or multipart uploads are left out.

The local limit defaults to 30 requests a minute. A cache hit does not spend that window.

Checked live against a real Komga 1.29.2 server: 16 checks passed. Other operations are covered by mock-server tests only.

Komga is MIT. The connector is MIT and only calls the public HTTP API.
