Details and limits

Grocy is a local MCP server for a self-hosted Grocy instance. The package name is grocy-mcp. You run it over stdio or stateless Streamable HTTP on localhost. It does not start Grocy for you.

There is no hosted service in this listing. Bring your own API key. Create it in Grocy under Manage API keys. Set GROCY_URL to your instance and GROCY_API_KEY to the key. The connector sends it as GROCY-API-KEY and never prints it. A trailing /api on GROCY_URL is stripped.

Writes are confirm-gated. A write is a dry-run preview when confirm is omitted. confirm must be the boolean true. When confirm:true and GROCY_ALLOW_WRITES is not the literal true, the tool returns the preview, sets blocked to true, and does not call the instance.

The connector covers all 74 Grocy API paths. Stock mutations, chores, tasks, batteries, recipes, meal plan, equipment, userobjects, userfields, files, users, and system endpoints are included. grocy_objects_list, grocy_objects_get, grocy_objects_create, grocy_objects_update, and grocy_objects_delete are how you create and edit products and the other entities.

grocy_files_get, grocy_files_put, and grocy_files_delete take the plain file_name. The connector base64-encodes it for Grocy.

The local limit defaults to 30 requests a minute. A cache hit does not spend that window.
